...to provide the finest sailing instruction available at any price - something we started doing in 1968. Our family is an award-winning industry leader. We combine decades of owner-operation with fresh enthusiasm, and we have an enviable amount of real, hands-on experience. Teaching aids, location, boat selection, choice of instructors, and experience all come together in perhaps the most finely developed program in the industry.

Our logos might be goofy, but our sailing is serious. That's why the woman on the left is singlehanding! Yes, you'll do that in our learn-to-sail/Basic Keelboat course, Start Sailing^sm. Sounds intimidating? Don't worry - it's actually fun, just like our equally effective Obstacle Course^sm another NYSC signature. After the course, your two supervised practice sails without an instructor on board leave you ready to truly sail and skipper the boat.

On top of all this, we're easy to get to by public transit and by car. We'll even pick you up from Manhattan!

Two Universities with Manhattan locations - Columbia and Fordham - have their sailing teams train at City Island. What does that tell you about learning to sail here instead of Manhattan / NY Harbor / Hudson River?
