Glenn F. Card, Jr:  ASA Certified Instructor up through Advanced Coastal Crusing Standard (Oct. '83). ASA Instructor Evaluator up through Basic Coastal Cruising.  U.S. Coast Guard Master's License.

Stephen Glenn Card: ASA Certified Instructor since 1983; upgraded to include 203, 204 and 205 (Basic Cruising, Bareboat Charter, and Coastal Navigation Instructor Certifications).  Radar Instructor endorsement pending.  U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton Master's License, Near Coastal, with endorsements for Auxiliary Sail vessels, Commercial Assistance Towing, and as Master Radar Observer - Unlimited.  Captain Card is the author of Navigation for Numbskulls, a thorough text book on coastal navigation with practice problems.

Glenn & Stephen Card paid their dues many times over in both one-design and handicap sailboat racing.  Classes include the Dyer Dhow (heavily used for "frostbite" racing in the winter), Laser, Soling, Sonar, Shields, J-24 and Merit 25, as well as numerous racer-cruisers.  Both of the Cards participated regularly in regattas from the local level on up to some East Coast, National and North American championships, and picked up their share of silver along the way.

Currently, Steve keeps active in racing in the competitive Division IV of the EBYRA (Eastchester Bay Yacht Racing Association), which is organized by four of City Island's yacht clubs but open to all competitors.  The Wednesday Night series can draw upwards of 60 boats on a good evening.  It used to have a one-design start for J-24's, but they moved to Monday nights and organize their own racing now.

Steve also participates in local and regional yacht deliveries, and our destination trips in the British Virgin Islands, Greece, and other areas.
